A little Blues with my Brunch

Bayou Breakfast

Pull up a chair. Let me share my story.

While waiting for the jewelry store to open, my husband heard my stomach growl and said “hey, you wanna do brunch?” I thought to myself… Aww, he knows me so well. 😍

I decided to search Google to see what was close by. We actually discovered a little hidden gem in plain sight. This place was directly across the street from the jewelry store. The Lord must have heard my stomach growling too!! HE knew I was hungry. 🙏🏽

The place we went to was a little quaint cafe’ that offered quite a few Creole style dishes. Here are a few items from the brunch menu: *Shrimp and Grits *Creole Eggs Benedict *Eggs Napoleon (served with a Crawfish Etouffe’) *and a Cajun Hash made with Andouille sausage

I decided to keep it light and go with the Bayou Breakfast (pictured above). The cheesy, garlicky, grits were truly delicious and the fruit was really fresh!! Our time spent here was accompanied by a wonderful selection of Blues and Zydeco music playing in the background. The Blues/Zydeco mix gave the little cafe’ an edge that I have not experienced during brunch before. I can honestly say that I really enjoyed the music selection. I was excited to learn that they provide a live band experience as well. We will need to go back there when there is a live music set during dinner hours.

Oh yeah, in case you were wondering about the jewelry store. We were simply searching for a nice class ring for my son (nothing for me this time), as his graduation is coming up quick. Just know that the trip to the Jewelry store ended up being a bust- with no ring. In hindsight, I’m glad that we were able to experience the Bluesy, Cajun, Brunch thus, proving my day productive! 🤷🏽‍♀️

Sonday Brunchday

Today was a great day to hangout with my son.

All of this started by going grocery shopping. You know how it is when you go to about five grocery stores looking for that one thing, and when you find it, you no longer feel like cooking? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Well that was truly the case for us. We looked up and saw this pseudo mecca across the street from the grocery store. it was almost like a mirage to us. We both looked at each other and silently agreed to try this new place out (well new to us at least).

My son will be graduating from college soon, and I just want to spend as much time with him as possible.

Over our great brunch today we discussed politics, entertainment news, next life steps and laughter.

During this brunch we had chilaquiles (chill-ah-kill-es) pictured above. And brisket eggs Benedict.

Everything was so very good from the company to the conversation and of course the food. 😋

This truly was a terrific Sonday brunch!!
